2.  Child & Youth Care Counsellor

Qualifications

We are looking for change agents who have a diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care. Experience working with youth in a residential setting or working with Aboriginal children would be an asset. Successful candidates must be prepared to complete and maintain training in Standard First Aid, ASIST, food handling, non-crisis intervention and Aboriginal awareness training. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification level and salary. In order to be considered for this role, you must undergo a security screening and an Intervention Record Check. Academic credentials will also be verified. You must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Salary
$24.97 – $32.01 per hour

The Youth Assessment Centre is a residential treatment facility looking for individuals to work as a member of a therapeutic case management team. We require relief Child and Youth Care Counsellors to cover off absences of permanent staff on various leaves such as general, vacation or sick leave. You would be responsible for providing both individual and group counseling; teaching individual and group living skills, and promoting exposure to recreational opportunities and other activities.

Qualifications
Degree or diploma in child/youth care or related area. Previous experience in youth care, preferably in an institutional/residential setting would be an asset.

$24.97 to $32.01/hour

4. FSCD Worker

Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) provides a range of proactive and family centered supports and services to assist families in caring for their children with disabilities, including assistance with some of the extraordinary costs of raising a child with a disability. As a worker, you will work collaboratively with parents to create plans. The plan will outline the family’s goals, supports and services required, the necessary follow-up and planned outcomes. The FSCD Agreement is based on supports and services that are within the scope of FSCD regulations.

You will monitor the delivery of supports and services, and review progress toward the achievement of outcomes. You will also help the family coordinate supports and services to address new or changing needs of the child with the disability as well as the needs of the family. You will establish, cultivate and enhance working relationships with community partners to maximize support and services to families.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Social Work with some related experience or a Masters of Social Work.
Equivalency: Masters of Social Work (no experience required) ; Or related university degree and 2 years related experience; Or related certificate and 4 years related experience.

Salary
$59,448.23 – $76,848.06 per annum
