Qualifications:

Essential:
• Candidates must have extensive directly related experience performing the full range of legal secretarial duties in a Family Law environment, including family court proceedings
• Knowledge and experience in preparing legal documents for various court levels
• Experience/ability dealing with the public and the legal profession
• Superior organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with emphasis on diplomacy and confidentiality
• Must be able to make independent decisions and use own initiative while working under minimum supervision
• Proficiency with MS Office software including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook along with excellent typing skills

Desired:
• Experience coordinating meetings, seminars and/or workshops

Duties:
The incumbent is responsible for providing legal secretarial/administrative support to Crown Counsel including compiling file information, preparation and completion of complex legal documents and correspondence and creation/maintenance of legal files. Responsibilities include preparing files for court dockets, time-sensitive preparation and submission of Auto-Orders for Maintenance Enforcement Court, stakeholder contacts, scheduling, reception, mail and other related office duties.

This position provides essential legal support and administrative services to clients of the Branch, including the Maintenance Enforcement Program and the Auto-Orders Project.  The position also provides back-up to other support staff in several other legal areas, including file management of inter-jurisdictional support order cases and support variation cases involving the Director of Employment and Income Assistance.  This position also has primary responsibility for handling reception and mail for the Branch.
