Environmental Services Manager
Full Time – Permanent
The Georgian Bay General Hospital is currently seeking an Environmental Services Manager. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Support Services, the Environmental Services Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for the Environmental Services portfolio to ensure the safety, efficiency, reliability, and timeliness of all related responsibilities. The portfolio includes management of plant operations, maintenance, biomedical engineering, housekeeping, laundry and linen and fire and security services. Directly responsible for planning, organizing, directing, scheduling and supervising department functions and activities. Regularly inspects building and grounds, maintaining compliance with various codes and standards and supervising construction and remodeling programs. Supervises the work of outsourced contracts such as Parking. We are seeking an innovative and diligent Manager who has a proven track record of constantly seeking out new programs and efficiencies to become greener in healthcare and to decrease energy costs.
Education:
- Degree in professional engineering, business administration, health care, or related field.
- Diploma in Health Services Management.
- Successful track record of professional development within the Environmental Services Field.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers (Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years experience in a management position
- Experience with a multi-site, complex health care setting within Environmental Services or Facility Services preferred
- Experience in capital project/renovation planning
Assets:
-Fluency in both English and French
Rate of Pay:
-Commensurate with qualifications and experience within salary band identified for this role.
