Yukon Communicable Disease Control is committed to providing excellence in management of infectious disease in the Yukon. As an Infectious Disease Nurse, you will provide primary health care services through an expanded
nursing role. In addition you will provide infectious disease guidance and support to other health care providers in the Yukon. As a team member, you help to foster an environment in which communities, families and individuals can achieve and maintain optimal health through the provision of health education/promotion, disease prevention and treatment services.
1. Infectious Disease Nurse (Whitehorse)
Salary: $58,782 to $67,955 per annum

This is a permanent part-time position, working 60 hours bi-weekly.
This position provides physical and risk assessments relating to infectious disease, STI counseling, interpretation of
test results, diagnosis, treatment,, counseling, case management, and referrals. Also manages disease
investigating, contact tracing and follow up activities for reportable blood borne diseases, vaccine preventable
disease, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis and enteric and zoonotic diseases. You will deliver
preventative services in the form of education/consultation and individual counseling and be part of a team effort
that constantly strives to improve services to the Yukon people.
Essential Qualifications
• Baccalaureate in nursing, combined with experience in an expanded role including STI experience
• Or a diploma in nursing combined with training or coursework in STI and other infectious diseases, combined
with considerable clinical experience working in sexually transmitted disease clinics.

Conditions of Employment: TB Screening, Security Clearance, Valid Driver’s License, current Yukon RN
registration, current Basic CPR HCP
Job Requirements: Willingness to travel occasionally within the Yukon
