The Surveillance and Assessment Branch of Alberta Health and Wellness provide leadership in the prevention and control of communicable diseases in Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Communicable Disease Control (CD), you will work with a team of Alberta Health and Wellness staff as well as other ministry staff, Alberta Health Services and the Public Health Agency of Canada. The goal is to strengthen policy, reporting and compliance of provincial CD programs. Your strong analytical and problem solving skills will provide you with the ability to respond to unexpected demands, integrate emerging communicable diseases into programming within the CD unit and develop creative solutions to CD program issues at the provincial level. Your exceptional leadership abilities will ensure your success in this position as you support setting strategic direction for the province in the area of communicable disease.

Salary: $76,812.04 to $97,836.11 per annum

Qualifications

A degree in Nursing (graduate degree preferred) combined with considerable related experience in a public health field is required. Experience with Communicable Disease Surveillance and Control at the zone and/or provincial level is an asset. Equivalencies considered. Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta is also required.
