Salary(s): $49,959.00 - $62,674.00 per year
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a Medical Laboratory Technologist with current Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) registration and licensed with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM). You will have knowledge and understanding of quality control procedures and practices, Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), and ability to maintain confidentiality with experience and understanding of health and safety practices. You will have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and proven ability to work as part of a team and ability to handle stress in a fast paced environment. Knowledge and understanding of Serology and/or Clinical Microbiology techniques, basic computer knowledge and experience, and Bachelor of Science degree is desired.
Duties:
Reporting to the Section Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the following: processing and testing samples and reporting results according to established laboratory protocols; participating in internal and external quality control programs ongoing in the section; participating in and having thorough knowledge of quality control procedures and practices; preparing materials and reagents for testing; observing safety precautions specific to the handling of infectious materials and equipment, and familiarity with WHMIS regulations; maintaining records and files as required; assisting in training other technical/professional personnel; assisting in method development; participating in call back/weekend rotation may be required.
