Selkirk Mental Health Centre (SMHC) is a 252-bed facility that provides long-term mental health inpatient treatment and rehabilitation services to residents of Manitoba whose challenging needs cannot be met elsewhere in the provincial health care system.

Salary(s): CK2 $38,191.00 – $43,534.00 per year

Qualifications:
- Several year’s experience working in a commercial large scale cooking operation plus completion of a recognized course in commercial cooking or an equivalent combination of education and experience is essential.
- Working knowledge of safety requirements, safe work practices and health regulations pertaining to food preparation and service is essential.
- Demonstrated ability working under pressure and deadlines is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive work relationships and work effectively in a team environment with minimum supervision is essential.
- Experience working with commercial food equipment is essential.
- Red Seal Certification is desired.
- Safe Food Handling certificate is desired.

Duties:
A Cook 2 at Selkirk Mental Health Centre will be responsible for;
Preparing ingredients, cooking meals, assisting with meal tray assembly including special dietary items, maintain sanitation and safety standards and providing coaching and leadership to kitchen helpers.
The Cook 2 will also be responsible for providing suggestions on potential new menu items or recipes.
