Salary(s):  PB3 $49,004.00 – $67,974.00 per year

Qualifications:
University degree in Social Sciences at the Bachelor’s level and directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.  Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history and justice related issues which face offenders today is required.  Knowledge of justice related issues facing a diverse group of clients including multi-cultural clients, clients with mental health issues, clients with special needs and female clients would be considered an asset. 

Experience networking and implementing culturally appropriate interventions and programming is essential.  Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written including the ability to work with conflict and involuntary clients in a respectful manner is essential as is the abilities to work independently and in a team environment.  Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle varying workload demands while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines is essential.  Experience with program facilitation and presentations and the ability to apply cognitive behavioural interventions to individuals and groups are essential.   Excellent assessment, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills are essential.   Experience in administering risk and needs assessments is an asset.  Proficiency using various computer software including MS office or equivalent is required.  Knowledge of motivational interviewing and stages of change would be an asset.  A valid drivers license is required.  The ability to travel is required as is the ability to work flexible hours.

Duties:
Preparation of comprehensive assessments (risk/need) using approved Manitoba Corrections risk instruments for court reports and case planning.  Development/implementation of case management plans.  One to one and group interventions to address identified risks/needs, multi-system planning; liaising with various criminal justice stakeholders, Correctional Centres and related community resources.
