PART TIME TEACHERS
Practical Nursing (Orangeville)

Duties & Responsibilities:
.Develop and deliver a wide variety of courses in a Practical Nursing Diploma Program including, but not limited to: first year nursing theory, community and professional practice courses, gerontology, medical-surgical, obstetrical and mental health.
.Evaluate student progress/achievement.
.Maintain subject expertise through contact with industry, other educational institutions and/or professional organizations.
.Create and maintain a positive learning environment.
.Incorporate a variety of learning/teaching strategies to meet student needs.
.Participate in portfolio and College activities as required.
.Participate in course revision, program renewal activities, and develop alternative delivery strategies as required.
Qualifications:

Required:
.A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, OR a diploma in Nursing plus a degree in healthcare or a related field.
.Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
.Recent experience in a health practice and/or an educational setting, with current CPR and immunization.
.Previous teaching experience at a post-secondary level and / or adult training experience.
.Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
.Commitment to lifelong learning.
.Computer literacy.
Additional Assets / Preferred:
.Master’s degree (or in-process).
.Knowledge of nursing theories, evidence-based practice and cooperative learning.
.Ability to work with diverse student population.
.Experience in some or all of the following: curriculum development, alternative delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies.
.The ability to teach in more than one subject or program area.
