Quality Engineer
Strathroy, ON

We currently have an exciting new opportunity to join our Global Support Team.

The Person:

As a key player in our Global Family, the successful candidate will report to the Manager, Advanced Program Management.  You will develop, implement and maintain quality systems, lead continuous improvement activities pertaining to quality, facilitate APQP activities, and provide statistical support to the team at our Global Technology Centre.

Your duties will also involve:

.     Lead: Champion the development and implementation of Quality Systems
including Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Instructions, FMEA's, DOE and management system documents and procedures.
.     Manage measurement tasks including gauge design and methods, and production
GR&R approval/analysis.
.     Pursue resolution of internal and external quality issues.
.     Provide expertise in the development of new product quality standards and
requirements with customers.
.     Work closely with multiple Meridian Facilities Globally
.     Measurement of parts on lab and layout equipment.
.     Analyze data and information from various information sources as a resource for problem resolution to provide accurate information based on team decisions.
.     Layout support, reviewing data, following tooling progressions and changes.
.     Provide detailed analysis of new measurement techniques and evaluate
their readiness for production.
.     Participate in new supplier auditing and development.
.     Support PPAP preparation and submission, Product Engineering, Engineering changes, run at rate.
.    Lead GTC quality Systems audit teams and ensure internal conformance.
.     Communication: Act as the liaison, when required, between the customer and plant team to ensure that issues are resolved with mutual consent and satisfaction.
.    Actively participate in the APQP process.
.    Work with suppliers in a supplier development capacity.
.    Ensuring that customer concerns are properly dealt with (8D's, etc.).
.    Negotiate corrective action plans, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
.    Training: Train team members in quality systems and procedures.
.    Encouraging use and understanding of the quality tools and systems in production including SPC and 8D's.
.    Work with the team to ensure all goals are met, promoting customer satisfaction
.    Documentation: Analyzing, documenting and reporting issues of customer returns.
.     Interfacing with the customer to maintain a full and accurate information flow.

You should possess a Quality Engineering designation or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of 5 years experience in automotive manufacturing. You should be comfortable in a fast moving and ever changing environment, and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Fluency in English is essential and there will be some international travel involved.  The home base for this position will be at our Global Technology Centre in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada.  The successful applicant must be able to commute daily to this location.
