The Information Technology Department, located in Winnipeg, MB, Canada has an opening for a Junior Programmer/Analyst position - Project Position.

Junior Programmer/Analyst

Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:

·         Bachelor degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
·         Technical knowledge should include one or more of the following:
- Java, JSP, C++, .net, HTML, XML, UML
- Eclipse, Subversion, Maven
- Oracle BI, MVS/TSO, Weblogic, Tomcat
- Linux, Unix, Windows Server 2005/2008
- Unix scripting, php, perl
- System Testing, Integration Testing, Application Load and Performance testing
- HPQC, QTP, LoadRunner
·         Working knowledge of the following is a plus: MS PowerPoint, MS Visio
·         Knowledge of any of the following databases including Oracle 11g, DB2, SQLSERVER
·         Experience using methodologies including RUP, Agile, Scrum
·         Knowledge of the roles and activities of the testing discipline and of the different types of testing required during the software development life cycle
·         Ability to make critical and successful decisions under pressure
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong leadership potential
·         Experience in utilizing facilitation and brainstorming techniques
·         Able to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
·         High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

·         Design and develop enhancements to existing software applications on any of our systems and platforms
·         Design, develop and execute system, integration, load and performance test scenarios and test cases
·         Collaboration with Technical Leads, Project Managers, Business analysts and other project stakeholders
·         Work on multiple, simultaneous projects to which his/her technical background and skills will be applied
·         Participation in requirements elicitation from project stakeholders
·         Understanding and communicating priority, risk, benefit, effort, stability and organizational impact of business initiatives
