Position Description:
As an integral member of the Health Records Team, the duties of the TRANSCRIPTIONIST include: transcribing physician/clinician medical-legal and psychosocial reports dictated through the centralized dictation system within expected turn-around-times, retrieving jobs from the dictation system, formatting reports within standard templates, distributing typed reports to providers, updating tracking worksheets, meeting or exceeding productivity standards (850 to 1000 lines per day), responding to routine enquiries and completing other duties as assigned. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is located at Queen Street Site.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have two years experience as a Transcriptionist in a hospital environment, experience in the mental health/addiction field is preferred, post secondary education in administration, health sciences or related field, completion of a medical terminology course, knowledge of Ontario privacy legislation (PHIPA), excellent keyboarding skills (80 wpm), demonstrated proficiency with computer systems (MS office is essential), demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to organize time, set priorities and meet deadlines, effective communication skills (oral and written), function effectively in a team, and experience working with a diverse workforce. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

Salary Range:    $21.25 to $26.21 per hour
